When creating a password it is important to make it as secure as possible. Below are guidelines for creating an effective password.

  • Your password should be at least eight (8) characters long.
  • Your password should be completely different from your username.
  • Upper and lower case letters should both be utilized.
  • It should contain at least one number and special characters (!, @, #, $).
  • The characters in your password should all be different (not aaaaa or ABAB).
  • Your password should be free of common names and predictable strings.
  • Do not use numbers you are associated with (birthday, SSN, address) Using these guidelines you should be able to create a strong password.
